Mt. Zion Residency is a 1 to 2 year pastoral leadership development program designed to immerse emerging leaders in the life of the local church and to equip them for a lifetime of kingdom impact.
Residents gain experience by serving on staff within one of the ministry teams of the local church. Residents will receive one-on-one coaching and a collaborative learning experience where they will further grow in their leadership capacity and personal development.
Ministry Experience
Residents focus on hands-on ministry experience within a department of the church, getting the real-life ministry experience they will need for a lifetime of significant church ministry. This hands-on ministry qualifies as supervised ministry towards ordination.
Ministry Coaching
Personal coach for ministry questions. Each resident experiences regular leadership coaching with a staff member in the department they are working in.
Personal Development
Equips you to be successful both personally and in ministry. The resident also experiences regular life coaching with a staff member.
Leadership Development
Weekly teachings centered around pastoral leadership topics. Each resident learns leadership through these weekly trainings. Leadership training curriculum focuses on four leadership arenas: Self Leadership, Relational Leadership, Organizational Leadership, Focused Leadership.
Culture/DNA
Experience a unique environment with a dynamic staff. Each resident will have opportunities to participate in department meetings and other environments that will enhance their ministry experience. Each resident will participate in the life and community of the staff.
Evaluations
Feedback to help you grow as a pastor. Evaluations will be filled out by both the resident and ministry coach after a major event and a monthly basis. Furthermore each resident will receive evaluations after 3, 6, 9, and 12 months.
